Holiday Pet Care - Professional In-Home Pet Sitters
Frequently Asked Questions

1. Will a pet sitter care for my pets in my home or theirs?
We will care for your pets in your own home. This helps to maintain their routine as much as possible and makes them more comfortable in familiar surroundings.

2. Do pet sitters take care of pets only while people are out of town?
Pet sitters are available to care for your pets while you are out of town, but they are also available for daily dog walks, checking on an ill or older pet during the day, or taking your pet to the groomer, vet or airport.

3. How many times a day should I have the pet sitter come visit my pets?
At least 2 visits per day for dogs. They are social animals and need that care and companionship and time to go run around and relieve themselves.
One visit per day for cats is usually sufficient. We do not do every other day cat care. Our insurance will not cover us, if there were to be a mishap.

4. How long does each visit last?
A regular visit takes between 25 to 30 minutes. This includes supervised feedings, walks and play. Times may vary according to the service options chosen before the service begins.

5. Do I pay before or after the service?
Payment is due before the service starts. With permission you may leave a cheque in full and the completed Service Request for the first visit. Any purchases performed on your behalf while you are away, will be billed to you when you return for payment within 14 days.

6. What if something happens and the pet sitter is unable to get to my pets?
We will have an associate who is also bonded/insured visit your pet.

7. Do you keep client information/ key/ alarm codes confidential?
Yes, we do not share client contact information for marketing or any other purpose.

8. What are the arrangements for picking up our keys?
We will obtain two copies of your house keys during the initial consultation. Most clients will allow us to retain the keys on file. Clients who choose to use us time and time again should think about joining our Ready Key Program as we charge $8.00 to return your keys after each service.

9. What other services does Holiday Pet Care provide?
